A Playdate inspired Microvania!

You are a mailman delivering your last package of the day. The adress leads to an old abandoned castle. Since nobody is home, you just leave them a notification and get back to your car, when you suddenly crash through the floor and are trapped below the castle. Time to find a way out of here and finally get home!

  • Gather different abilities to help you escape!
  • Collect optional shiny gems scattered around the castle!
  • Complete the game as fast as you can and compare your time with your friends!

Note: If the sound is not working, please check the sound output device of your PC. Sometimes the PC switches its output to the gamepad speakers when connecting the gamepad.

Controls

Playing with a gamepad is recommended, although playing with a keyboard works as well.

The browser version currently only works properly with a PS5 Gamepad or a keyboard! For other gamepads the controls are unfortunately mixed up, although they should still work, you'll just have to figure out the correct buttons.

The downloadable Windows version should work fine with all input methods. Only the pause button and menu navigation seem to require a keyboard here

PS Gamepad

  • Movement: Left Joystick
  • Jump: X
  • Interact: Square
  • Inventory/Pause: Options
  • Close Textbox: Circle

XBox Gamepad

  • Movement: Left Joystick
  • Jump: A
  • Interact: X
  • Inventory/Pause: Start
  • Close Textbox: B

Keyboard

  • Movement: Arrow Keys
  • Jump: Space
  • Interact: E
  • Inventory/Pause: Escape
  • Close Textbox: R

The buttons for the different unlockable abilities can be seen anytime by opening the inventory (PS Gamepad and Keyboard).

Speedrun Developer Times

Any %: 3:17

100%: 5:40

In the Any% Speedrun players just need to finish the game in the fastest way possible. It does not matter how many gems or keys have been collected.

In the 100% Speedrun players need to collect all abilities, all 20 gems and both keys before finishing the game. Also both keys have to be used on their respective doors.

Versions

The only difference between v1.0.1 and v1.1 is the input system.

v1.0.1 is identical to the browser version and recommended when using a PS5 gamepad or a keyboard.

v1.1 should (hopefully) work with any gamepad. The only problem with this version is that pausing the game/opening the inventory and menu navigation require the keyboard.

hm I got the wall jump, garden key, and floor slam. Now I’m just going in circles and the only place I haven’t been it seems like I need a dash (narrow passage with long spikes floor on top of building). Where do I go!

(1 edit)

There is a breakable floor on top of the castle - you‘ll find what you need to progress there (check the second screenshot for reference).

thanks for replying! Is that not where you drop down and its a narrow passage with spikes? Maybe I missed another one...

(1 edit)

There are two different breakable floors at the top. The one you are talking about is at the very right, the second one is 2 screens further to the left. :)

excellent game !

Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

The textbox that starts "Damn it! The floor just collapsed..." won't close, so I can't even get past the first proper screen of the game. Playing on Chrome.

I'm having quite a lot of trouble with getting the browser build to work. Your problem should hopefully be fixed now.

Yep, working fine now.

from what In(on windows 10, notebook, firefox) have seen:
on keyboard, E is the interact button while R closes textboxes.
later on R is also used for rock smashing

Yeah, there was a glitch where one particular textbox wouldn't close, but it's been fixed now.
